Ayelet Rose Gottlieb - Jazz
Ayelet Rose Gottlieb is a Jerusalem-born, Montréal-based vocalist / composer, whose journey in jazz began at age 16, performing with the late, great Arnie Lawrence. Their musical collaboration included performances in Ramallah with Palestinian musicians, where jazz became a language of peace and connection across cultures.
As she developed her distinctive voice as a composer, bandleader, and improviser, Gottlieb maintained a deep love for the language of jazz, honouring its traditions while embracing its spirit of freedom, creativity, and discovery.
Best known for her long-standing collaboration with New York composer John Zorn, she has also performed with internationally acclaimed artists including Joe Lovano, Paquito D’Rivera, and Bobby McFerrin.
Now based in Montréal, Gottlieb regularly performs with leading musicians from the city’s vibrant jazz scene, including pianist Kate Wyatt and bassist Adrian Vedady. This trio brings together three distinctive musical voices, united by a shared love of the jazz tradition and the joy of spontaneous musical discovery. Rooted in adventurous Jazz repertoire and creative interplay, the trio offers a fresh and personal approach.
