A Love Song with a Ceiling Fan

We are the steel wings of an old fan.
the screw that hung us on the ceiling remembers
the tongue of the screwdriver that twisted its lips,
and the groaning of the cement at the moment of penetration.
In the corner of the room the radio is on, and on the musical scales
the words climb like construction workers with swollen muscles.
Someone is singing: “if loving you is wrong,
I don’t want to be right.”
